Such a friendly owner dressed in beautiful yukata! She made the best carrot cake I’ve ever had in my life! Benibana carrot cake and a proper chai. She also serves flat whites and coffee drinks that are reminiscent of Australia. Junko san lived in Australia and speaks English as well. A very welcoming international rest stop, perfect after hiking up Yamadera.

Best coffee place in Japan!! So glad we found this little gem of a shop in the beautiful town of Yamadera. The owner has spent many years in Australia working in the coffee industry and has brought her knowledge and skill in coffee and baking sweet treats to this magical place. Highly recommended by us Aussie tourists!

Nice Spot Coffee was a great surprise. After a long walk, it was great to sit down with a dense chocolate brownie (yum!) and drink in a relaxed coffee shop. Owner was very nice, spoke excellent English and even had homemade Anzac biscuits for sale. The cakes looked fantastic.

NICE SPOT COFFEE! I was here today, and the hot chocolate was amazing! The best thing to grab after a tiring winter hike to Yamadera! Junko is an amazing host, extremely kind and is very fluent in English as well! Cute little cafe with an interesting menu. But watch out, this place may not have the same menu options and host throughout the year!

Delicious ice matcha latte and a gluten free rice cookie. It's rare to have owners who have the awareness for gluten allergies, especially in the country side of Japan. Cookie was really good! Thanks Junko for your hospitality and I wish you all the best with your dream coffee shop

This cafe sells souvenirs, drinks and snacks. Their puddings and parfaits were exceptionally excellent and the English speaking owners were attentive and friendly. And don’t forget to try their Ball Konnyaku too. Great stopover for relaxing the body and mind, especially after the 1000 steps up the stairs to the Yamadera Risshakuji Temple.

We had the best coffee during our month long stay in Japan. Jun-chan has 15 years of barista experience in Australia and made an amazing flat white coffee which hit the spot! She made us feel welcome with her English skills and the atmosphere of the cafe took us back to Australia
